During the Second World War.
During the Second World War, in German occupied Poland many Poles of Christian faith helped their neighbors of Jewish faith. Assistance was offered both institutionally by the Underground State and spontaneously by individuals and families. Those who aided Jews in any way risked their lives as Poland was the only country occupied by Germans in which by their ordinance aiding a Jew subjected all members of aiding family, including children to be shot on the spot. There were tens of thousands of those Righteous.
Moreover, the situation of Jewish Poles was so critical, that Jan Karski has made it from occupied Poland via England to the United States and informed President Roosevelt of all atrocities in occupied Poland including Holocaust - the Final Solution. Roosevelt has shown no interest and he did nothing.
I am sailing singlehanded the opposite way, from United States to United Kingdom with names of Righteous on the sides of the boat, Righteous who before and after Jan Karski's brave journey risked or lost they lives to save their neighbors.
Along the route all passing ships, their crews, owners, governments of their flags and owner-companies will be informed of the Righteous and Jan Karski's mission.
