No Atlantic crossing this year for weather reasons, but second place Doublehanded Division in Around Long Island Regatta. 207 NM from New York Harbor to Sea Cliff.
As time passes I really believe that hurricane Chris rerouting me to Halifax brought only good things to this project.
Most importantly more people learned about the Righteous and Witolds.
Once those wonderful kids wrote names of the Righteous on the hull of Witold I guess I became their custodian.
Witold, the Mini 650 owned by Bartosz Bilinski is the second Mini 650 to enter the Vineyard Race.
Soon, we will sail in the famous Vineyard Race doublehanded and spread the message about the Righteous and Witolds. Bastien Poix, Bartosz Bilinski.
There is no bad that does not turn into good. Hurricane Chris rerouted Witold to Ethan Johnson and this group of great sailors at Oakliff Sailing in Oyster Bay.
Hero Trophy for Witold - Witold Pilecki and Jan Karski "Witold".
This time sailors and friends taking part in Around Long Island Regatta.
S/y WITOLD received The Hero Trophy, and skipper Bartosz Bilinski is talking about the Righteous.
This year's attempted journey across Atlantic has ended.
But the cause deserves a try next year.
On the way home, New York City.
W drodze do domu, do Nowego Jorku.
You know it’s a small world when you meet a fellow Polish Sailor in Halifax NS.
Niestety, huragan Chris pokrzyżował plany Righteous Across.
Today marks the 82nd anniversary of the birth of Stasia Ulma.

The project is continues.
Project is still on.
A local shipbulider Mike here in Shelburne, Nova Scotia knows about #Righteous now.
"I am making my way back to NY. It is unfortunate that this crossing will not happen this year, but hey, imagine there are people on the way who had no idea! And they know now".
Thank you The First News and Joanna Jasinska for such a nice article.

A word from the captain Bartosz Bilinski:
To all asking about the departure day, I guess I need to wait a bit longer until this clears out.
Mini 6,50 is fast, but it isn't IMOCA to ride that front out on its face.
Children were given random pages with names not in alphabetical order and look - somehow Józef and Wiktoria Ulma after whom Museum of Poles saving Jews is named are here. Standing out.
During the Second World War, in German occupied Poland many Poles of Christian faith helped their neighbors of Jewish faith. Assistance was offered both institutionally by the Underground State and spontaneously by individuals and families. Those who aided Jews in any way risked their lives as Poland was the only country occupied by Germans in which by their ordinance aiding a Jew subjected all members of aiding family, including children to be shot on the spot. There were tens of thousands of such Righteous.
There are about 8,000 names of Poles of different faiths saving lives of Poles of Jewish faith during German occupation. Some of their names were written on the sides of the boat named WITOLD - to honor Witold Pilecki and Jan Kozielewski, Jan Karski "Witold" - by kids from Polish Supplementary Schools in New York. Among kids was a pretty big and strong kid from Brooklyn, Adam Babyface Kownacki.
All children and parents - thank you for coming!
